How to Use Your New French Press

If you want to experience the best tasting coffee, then consider using a French Press.

The use of a French Press lets you create a cup of coffee that's filled with a more intense flavor. Not only is it produced and made with the best use of flavors, it also offers you a drink that has quality in mind.

But for a more step-by-step process, read through the list below:

1. Only use coffee grounds that are coarse in texture, as using finely crushed ones will only slip through the filter. You wouldn't want this to happen unless you wanted small coffee bits in your cup while sipping your drink.

2. With your coffeemaker, make sure that you take out its top and filter first. As soon as you're done with this, start filling your coffeemaker with your coffee grounds. For starter's, you can fill it up with about 5-tablespoons of coffee grounds, provided that you also balance these out with about 6-cups of water. You can still adjust the flavor should it turn out to be bland or too strong in taste.

3. Now, the next step is to measure the water that you'll be pouring into the French Press (make sure that the water fits well inside it) and have this poured in. After this, proceed to boiling the contents (the water temperature should only range to about 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit). A word of advice though, you can pour the water all at once, or pour in portions of it while stirring the drink (either way can work).

4. You can also lightly mix the brew using only wood or plastic materials. But should you choose to use a metal stirrer, make sure that you don't hit the glass casing of your French Press (as this can be damaging).

5. Now, get the top piece of your French Press and have this covered with it. Also make sure that the filter's raised to the topmost part of the coffeemaker.

6. After step 5, leave the contents to brew for about four minutes. Also consider the time that you'll be setting for you brew, as some grounds that are blended for a longer time might leave out a bitter taste to it.

7. After step 7, give your brew another stir before compressing the coffeemaker's plunger. Then give the filter a light push downwards (securing that the filter spout is also facing the opening).

8. You're almost done! You'll be able to drink your coffee as soon as the grounds come to a rest (a good 30 seconds will do).

Now, you're almost done! Start pouring the freshly brewed coffee into your cup; and have your coffee settle-in your cup first before drinking it.
