They say when it comes to selling products online that you should only sell products that you know a lot of information about. Or do something you love is another one that we hear very often. Not bad advice at all. In a recent conversation with a very well known internet businessman he brought up a very different point. First and foremost is not to go head to head with the big chain stores. You'll lose!
He also talked about this idea of only selling what you are familiar with. How many other products are out there that you don't use for whatever reason. Maybe you just never heard of an alternative to what you normally use. You have to play around with some keywords until you get your way into a niche market that the competition is more at the level that you can deal with.
Find your niche, find products, do a lot of testing and start writing blogs and articles and then go for it. Advertise the products and sell them as best as you can.
Do others enjoy doing the same thing?
Are there enough potential customers for you to try and sell certain items? You will know if there are buyers or at least people wondering about them if you do enough keyword research, get involved in some forums so you can see what people are asking about and make sure you have the correct product.
What is the competition like?
The competition for electronics, fashions, and other mainstays of life is so great and they big chain stores absolutely have the market cornered. You probably cannot compete with the price that they are selling their products. You will see that they sell the items for a lower price than what you can buy it at retail. That is because they buy in bulk. Bulk rates are always way cheaper than retail.
Find your products, add them to your sales platform and let people know they are getting the best product from the best company out there.
